In the afternoon of 26/9, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong met with the delegation of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the for the beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

Attending the meeting were former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Chairman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, Chairman club for the beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa. Also attending were 100 delegates who are members of the Fund, the Club, typical philanthropists and students who were awarded scholarships of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund; representatives of relevant agencies, departments and unions.

After 25 years of establishment and operation, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has awarded scholarships to many typical ethnic minority students throughout the country; many of them have participated in in-depth training projects organized by the Fund, thereby making an important contribution to improving the quality of high-quality human resources for the country. The projects implemented by the Fund have contributed to the Party and State investment and infrastructure development for ethnic minority areas. During its operation, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund always receives the companionship and practical support of agencies, departments, sectors, unions and philanthropists, businesses to continuously develop and expand programs and projects for the community, for society, for the country.

From the initial goal of building a scholarship fund for ethnic minority students, the Fund has continuously made new developments, implemented many meaningful activities, programs and projects, showing affection and responsibility for the country and dear students.

Noting that the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has been durable and effective for many years, President Mr Vo Van Thuong said that to have important and good results today is thanks to the tireless activities of the Fund’s members, who have high social responsibility even though there are many elderly people, strength was weak. According to the President, our country is entering a new stage of development with great achievements. However, the difficulties and challenges are not small; in particular, the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic are very heavy for the country’s economy and society as well as people’s lives. That context requires the continuous efforts of businesses, people and the whole political system; in which solidarity and effort are very important.

President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that it is necessary to continue to maintain the operation of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, continuing the precious tradition that the Fund has created; constantly providing practical support and assistance to ethnic minority students. Kim Oanh Charity Foundation has been a companion for more than 10 years with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Club for Hoang Sa- Hoang Sa, together awarding thousands of scholarships to children of ethnic minorities, children of cadres and soldiers in island areas across the country. In addition, every year, Kim Oanh Charity Foundation also supports the construction of dozens of volunteer houses for disadvantaged soldiers in coastal and island areas with a total funding of programs up to tens of billions of VND.
