On February 1, the program “Xuan Giap Thin – The Journey of Sharing” of Kim Oanh Charity Foundation continued to bring hundreds of gifts to disadvantaged patients and pediatric patients being treated at 4 hospitals Cho Ray, Children's Hospital 1, Children 2, Ung Buu Hospital (Campus 2) Ho Chi Minh City and HCMC Center for Rehabilitation and Support for Children with Disabilities Ho Chi Minh City.
Attending and accompanying the program, there were Mrs. Truong My Hoa, former Vice President, Chairman of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hien, Deputy Director of Vietnam Children's Fund; Mrs. Dang Thi Kim Oanh – Chairman of Kim Oanh Group, Chairman of Kim Oanh Charity Foundation, together with leaders and managers of charity social work of hospitals (BV).
At Cho Ray Hospital, the program gave 150 gifts, each worth VND 1 million (including VND 750,000 in cash and VND 250,000 in milk cakes) to disadvantaged cancer patients and pediatric patients being treated here.
Sharing at the event, Mrs. Dang Thi Kim Oanh – Chairman of Kim Oanh Group, Chairman of Kim Oanh Charity Foundation acknowledged that the past year was a difficult year in all aspects, especially the economy. “We were hard but not in pain, and our relatives who were struggling were sick. So these gifts, although small, are extremely sharing and meaningful. I hope people will get well quickly and get better and recover from illness to reunite with their families during the Tet holidays”, Mrs. Oanh was emotional.
Mrs. Kim Oanh also added that this is the 8th year that Kim Oanh Charity Foundation has implemented the Tet gift giving program at Cho Ray hospital.
“Today is my birthday, but I chose this day to share with my relatives, with the children. A few days ago, the company unexpectedly celebrated my birthday, but there were no gifts, no flowers because I knew I didn't like it, considering it a waste. Instead, it is a symbolic cream cake, including the support of Kim Oanh's collective in 9 branches… with a total amount of VND 100 million. That money today has been turned into gifts of cake and cash to relatives,” Kim Oanh said.
Also at the gift-giving ceremony, Mrs. Truong My Hoa highly appreciated Ms. Kim Oanh's volunteer spirit by raising funds for her birthday so that the group could have more funds for meaningful activities, giving Tet gifts to relatives. “Kim Oanh's heart is the same as the heart of the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund or Cho Ray hospital, are aimed at disadvantaged beneficiaries in life. Also on the occasion of the New Year, I wish the patients and children good health, soon get rid of illness to go home and reunite their families to celebrate Tet fully.” – Former Vice President Truong My Hoa said.
Mrs. Vo Thi Sinh, a native of Tay Ninh to receive gifts on behalf of her daughter, could not help but choke. She said her daughter contracted lung cancer when she was 17. Up to now, for 3 years, she has accompanied her daughter to celebrate Tet in the hospital since then.
According to Mr. Le Minh Hien – Head of Social Affairs Department of Cho Ray Hospital, over the past 15 years, the Social Affairs Department has mobilized 10,985 donors, helped 29,547 patients, the total amount of help for poor patients is more than VND 148 billion. Provide 4,500 free meals to relatives and patients every day. All activities of the Social Care Department are always for patients, hoping to share the difficulties and hardships of patients, so that patients are not alone in the fight against diseases. The Head of Social Affairs Department of Cho Ray Hospital also thanked Kim Oanh Charity Foundation for always accompanying and supporting Tet gifts for patients over the years.
Next, the social work delegation continued to give 250 similar gifts to pediatric patients at Children's and Children's Hospital 2.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Khuyen, 36 years old, from Tra Vinh province was touched: “Being given an invitation by Children's Hospital to receive Tet gifts of the Xuan Giap Thin – Sharing Journey program, my mother and children are very happy and very happy”. I am not happy that my son, 4-year-old N.N.H.A., has been suffering from meningitis and digestive problems since he was 2 months old, spending more time in BV than at home. She has been holding her sick children all the time since she was born until now, her husband is a bricklayer, life is very hard. “Thank you so much for everyone's heart and understanding towards families, especially children like my child!” she choked up.
In the afternoon of the same day, Kim Oanh Charity Foundation continued to move to the next location, handing out 220 gifts to the children and visiting staff at the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Rehabilitation and Support for Children with Disabilities. HCM; visited and gave 100 gifts to pediatric patients at the Oncology Hospital, in addition to donating 30 beds to this hospital, to meet the needs of serving patients.
In the coming days, the program will send warm gifts of love to the poor, give scholarships to disadvantaged students in Binh Duong; visiting and giving gifts to students of a reformatory school in Dong Nai province.
