On the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the establishment of the 3rd Naval Region (26/10/1975 – 26/10/2023), Kim Oanh Charity Foundation (belonging to Kim Oanh Group) has donated 250 million VND to the 3rd Naval Region, supporting funds to renovate and repair the church of martyr hero Nguyen Phan Vinh.
In the afternoon of 26/10, Kim Oanh Charity Foundation, together with the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, visited and congratulated the establishment of the 3rd Naval Region, in Da Nang.
At the traditional meeting program, Mr. Nguyen Dang Tien, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the 3rd Naval Region was emotional when talking about the establishment of the 3rd Naval Region and expressed his thanks to the supporting unit.
“On behalf of Region 3 of the Navy, on behalf of the family of martyr hero Nguyen Phan Vinh, I would like to thank Kim Oanh Group, as well as the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund, for the beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa for their interest and financial support to repair the heroic church of Phan Vinh. In addition, it must be mentioned the interest and encouragement of the Medium A Sticky Scholarship Fund; for the beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, every year, hundreds of scholarships for children of soldiers, children of fishermen, children of ethnic minorities motivate soldiers and people to always firmly perform their tasks” – Party Secretary Commissar of Naval Region 3 said.
According to the schedule, tomorrow 27/10, the delegation of Kim Oanh Charity Foundation and the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund' For the beloved Hoang Sa and Truong Sa will award 300 scholarships to students with good academic achievements, children of soldiers in Da Nang and students overcoming difficulties, remote areas in Quang Nam. Each set is worth 1 million VND and one Kim Oanh backpack.
Hero Nguyen Phan Vinh was born in 1933, in Dien Nam, Dien Ban, Quang Nam. He went to train torpedo boat commanders in China. In the period 1963-1968, hero Nguyen Phan Vinh participated in commanding 11 unnumbered ships carrying weapons to the South as a deputy and then captain. On March 1, 1968, Captain Nguyen Phan Vinh died along with 13 other crew members of ship 235 at Hon Hèo, which refers to the sea and mountains running through Ninh Phuoc and Ninh Van communes in Khanh Hoa province. Later, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Merit First Class. In August 1970, he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the State. In 1978, Hon Sap Island (Pearson Reef) in the Spratly Islands, Vietnam was renamed Phan Vinh Island. |
