On Sept 09th, the Khoi Su Tu Tam Foundation, a member of Kim Oanh Group, solemnly organized Vu Lan Ceremony at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, HCMC with the attention of nearly 400 employees.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Venerable Thich Giac Hiep, Deputy Abbot of Vinh Nghiem pagoda, along with numerous Venerable monks and nuns. Buddhist nun Thich Nu Huong Nhu, Abbess of Thien Quang pagoda, delivered a touching Dharma talk on filial piety, reminding participants of the sacred duty to love and respect parents.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWhen our parents grow older, some may become easygoing while others may not. It\u2019s just like when we were children, our parents patiently and persistently raised us year after year. Looking back on that time, we should respect, cherish and love your parents as much as possible while they are still with us.\u201d<\/p>\n

She quoted the Vietnamese folk poetry: \u201cEvery night, I light a lamp in the sky, praying my parents live forever with me\u201d<\/em>, and the audience repeated together. The hall echoed with one voice, and in that moment, many were deeply moved, their hearts filled with memories of their parents\u2019 devotion and sacrifices.<\/p>\n

During the Rose Ceremony, each flower gently placed on a lapel became a symbol of remembrance and love. Many people could not hold back their tears as they recalled their mothers and fathers.<\/p>\n

Together, employeees of Kim Oanh Groups gathered to reflect on each other parents\u2019 devotion and sacrifices. This was also an opportunity for each of us to look back on ourselves, honor the value of filial piety, and pay deep respect to our parents.<\/p>\n

In parallel with the ceremony, the Khoi Su Tu Tam Foundation organized charitable visits to nearly 1,000 elderly people living alone in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai. Though modest, each gift carried with its warmth, care, and the hope of bringing comfort and joy during this meaningful season.<\/p>\n

The Vu Lan Festival, rooted in the story of Venerable Muc Kien Lien (Maudgaly\u0101yana) saving his mother from suffering, has long been an important period of Buddhist tradition. Today, it remains not only a time to honor parents and ancestors, whether living or departed, but also a reminder to cultivate compassion and extend kindness to those in need.<\/p>\n
