The EDGE recognition (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), one of the most reputable green building certifications in the world, has been granted to 297 townhouses in the Bang Lang zone of K-Home New City. This project is the first Singapore-standard social housing project in Vietnam, developed by Kim Oanh Land (a member of Kim Oanh Group) in Binh Duong New city.<\/em><\/p>\n

At the event, Mrs. Dang Thi Kim Oanh, Chairwoman and CEO of Kim Oanh Group, emphasized: \u201cK-Home New City is a pioneering project in the line of Singapore-standard social housing developments that Kim Oanh Land is executing in the South. Not only meets modern criterias of construction, but also integrates a wide range of green building solutions applied in various developed nations in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Diep Nguyen-van Houtte, Senior Global Director of the Climate Finance Department at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, said: \u201cThe 297 units of K-Home New City, who is actually the 1st<\/sup> EDGE preliminary certificated social housing batch \u00a0in Ho Chi Minh City, has exceeded the standards for EDGE certification. At this stage, the project has successfully demonstrated 26% Energy Efficiency, 28% Water Efficiency and 52% reduction in Embodied Carbon in Building materials.\u201d<\/p>\n

This means monthly utility bills for residents will be approximately 20% lower, without impacting living standards and comfort. Green solutions applied to this project will also lighten the load on the surrounding infrastructure network and contribute in developing sustainable urban area.<\/p>\n

According to a representative from Kim Oanh Land, numerous well-know F&B brands like Highlands Coffee, Shamoji Robata Yaki restaurant, Dora Flower shop, Nemo fruit store, and 24\/7 Minimart will begin operations at K-Home New City in the coming months.
